Raffia tape extrusion plants are industrial systems used to produce flat tapes (raffia) from polypropylene (PP) or high-density polyethylene (HDPE). These tapes are further used in weaving processes to manufacture woven sacks, fabrics, ropes, and geotextiles.
Polymer granules (PP/HDPE) are melted in an extruder.
Molten material is extruded through a flat die to form a film sheet.
The film is slit into narrow tapes (raffia).
Stretching (orientation) increases tensile strength.
Tapes are wound onto bobbins for further weaving processes.
