Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is a corrosion-resistant alloy made primarily of iron, carbon, and chromium (usually at least 10.5% chromium). The chromium in stainless steel forms a thin oxide layer on the surface, known as a passive layer, which prevents rust and corrosion. Because of its strength, durability, and corrosion resistance, stainless steel is used in a wide range of applications, from household items to heavy industrial machinery.
